Finding Ease in Your Hips
Ideally, your feet provide you with a foundation that is both supportive and flexible. The well-organized use of your feet translates, upward, through your joints to provide you with stability, flexibility, balance, shock-absorption, and ease in standing, walking, and sitting.
Without an effective foundation, the comfort of our ankles, knees, and hip joints is compromised. We develop compensatory habits of self-use that impact our spine, ribs, and hips, and also affect the carriage of our head. Our experience and sense of ourselves becomes limited as our ease of movement is reduced.
In Flexible & Grounded, From Your Feet Up, Feldenkrais Trainer Carol Kress will lead you on an interior expedition, exploring the ways we compose ourselves for action, and clarifying important relationships through our feet, knees, and hip joints. The lessons featured in this series will improve the effectiveness of your base of support, help you to regain lost flexibility and refine your movement.
If you are active and like to hike, stroll, dance, or run, or stand for long periods of time, or simply wish to enhance support and adaptability from your feet to your head, this series may be of particular interest!
