Changing Habits of Chronic Pain

A program of six Feldenkrais lessons to gently improve the health and comfort of your eyes. Taught by Feldenkrais Trainer Raz Ori.

Feldenkrais help for your vision

Over millions of years, our visual system has evolved to be our dominant sense organ. Exquisitely complex, it allows us to see colors and to perceive the world around us in three dimensions. It gives us peripheral vision as well as the ability to focus on fine details, and it makes it possible for us to detect motion and move while fixing our gaze.

But modern life is altering the way we use our eyes. Today, people of all ages are experiencing eye discomfort, tension, and loss of visual acuity. Why? Because when we focus on screens, our visual system has to work in a very limited and restricted way. Over time, this diminishes the health of our eyes. Without intervention, we can become habituated to using our eyes in ways that lead to eye strain, fatigue, poor circulation, and visual impairments.

Raz Ori has spent the past decade studying the role that our eyes play in our perceptions and actions. In this program, he teaches Feldenkrais lessons to help you improve each aspect key to healthy eyes. Learn new tools for self-care as you discover new ways to improve your ocular circulation and reduce muscular tension. Improve the organization of your eyes individually, together, and with your whole self, and re-activate some of the natural visual biological abilities that are no longer present in our daily life. As your eye health improves, your mobility, posture, balance, and sense of well-being will improve as well!

What People are Saying

"When I got up off the floor, my entire body felt amazing, entirely relaxed and fully awake and energized at the same time. My lungs felt like there was no end to the air they could breathe in, and my tightest, most painful areas felt better than they ever had."

~Ruth Dickover

I've been able to reduce the pain meds I relied upon for decades! I'm very happy to have relief! I had not hoped for such encouraging results. My doctor is very pleased! Thank you for making Feldenkrais accessible for those of us who are housebound. It is a gift."

~Susan Whalen

"I loved this program. I had the most beautiful, deep, relaxing sleep after completing the lessons. I love Raz's voice, explanations, and the way in which he also makes us aware that this is such an individual process, even when following the process."

New to Feldenkrais?

Who are Feldenkrais lessons for?

They are for everyone. No previous experience is required. Feldenkrais lessons are gentle, flexible, and used by people of all ages and abilities, for a variety of reasons. Use to improve your physical comfort and abilities, enhance your mood, and promote healing.

Why are they called lessons?

They're called ‘lessons’ instead of ‘exercises’ because your brain engages in sensory-motor learning when you do them. As you combine movement and attention, learning occurs and new options for your physical comfort, posture, and movement will emerge.

Why does this approach work?

Feldenkrais lessons work because your brain is interested in helping you. A unique combination of movement and attention activates your brain’s flexible neuroplasticity, to help you to develop new neuro-pathways and better neuromuscular organization.
