When physical fitness experts suggest that we ‘engage and strengthen our core’, they are referring to the central muscles of our torso, which stabilize and move our pelvis, lower back, and hips. But keeping our core muscles tight comes at a cost, and can lead to serious problems. Tightening, bracing, and contracting our core muscles -habitually- can cause chronic tension and pain in our back, neck, shoulders and ribs, as well as severely restricted breathing, and digestive issues.
"True strength comes not from stiffness, but through a dynamic, intelligent coordination of our entire self in action."

In this weekend workshop, Feldenkrais Teacher and Trainer Raz Ori will present a group of sensory-motor lessons designed to help you develop the strength, coordination, and comfort of your core support system… from a Feldenkrais perspective. You will discover that better core function comes from mobility and coordination, not from gripping, bracing, or ‘holding’, and you’ll learn how to sense and use your core in a way that supports your spine, reduces strain, and allows your whole self to move more freely.
Whether you're familiar with the Feldenkrais Method or new to this approach, this weekend with Raz Ori will allow you to experience a healthy, ‘functional core’ as an adaptable, dynamic relationship between your pelvis, spine, head, and limbs. It will help you to change old muscular patterns so you can move with greater clarity, power, and ease, and give you new ways to develop the health, comfort, and strength of your core. Register now!
