Are you ready to feel better? Are you ready to access the magic of your brain's neuroplasticity?
Let David Zemach-Bersin show you how.
In 2019, an ordinary respiratory infection changed the course of Feldenkrais Teacher Dwight Pargee's life. What began as a common illness, turned into an autoimmune condition called Transverse Myelitis — an inflammation of the spinal cord, triggered by the viral infection. It caused swelling which damaged his upper motor neuron pathways, forcing him to put a busy life of sports, recreational activities, teaching and seeing clients on hold.
Extremely active up to this point, Dwight now found himself unable to stand or walk unassisted, and he experienced a range of emotions familiar to anyone facing a serious health crisis. Following expert medical advice, he engaged in a course of physiotherapy to help him regain his mobility. But it wasn't long before he realized this was not going to be enough.
"My brain's internal map had been disrupted. It was clear to me that there were gaps and connections that needed to be rebuilt, re-learned, re-organized, and integrated from the inside out."
Accepting the challenge, Dwight put himself on a healing path using the Feldenkrais Method to facilitate a process of gentle neuroplastic learning. He found that it offered a coherent framework for his functional recovery that medical treatment, alone, could not.
Calming his own nervous system — and trusting his body and brain's innate capacity to reorganize — were the essential first steps. Then, he used Feldenkrais principles to gradually repair and restore his internal body map, or neurological 'image'. He was able to regain his ability to walk, and has been able to return to a full teaching practice. Today, he is passionate about sharing what he learned about self-healing with others navigating similar challenges.
We are delighted to announce that Dwight has agreed to present a three-day workshop sharing the specific Feldenkrais lessons and biological learning principles that guided his recovery — an approach he recommends to anyone contending with neurological injury, physical trauma, or illness. Built around ten Feldenkrais lessons, the workshop offers practical tools for self-care and self-healing, and will strengthen the framework of your recovery. Join Dwight for an immersive experience; rebuilding your brain's body map, restoring confidence, and keeping you moving in the right direction.

New to Feldenkrais?
Get ready for something soothing, surprising, powerful, & different!
Who are Feldenkrais lessons for?
They are for everyone. No previous experience is required. Feldenkrais lessons are flexible and used by people of all ages and abilities, for a wide range of reasons. If you have a brain and a body, Feldenkrais lessons are meant for you.
Why are they called lessons?
They're called ‘lessons’ instead of ‘exercises’ because your brain engages in a natural kind of learning when you do them. They use gentle movement and relaxed attention to stimulate new and better options for your physical comfort, movement, and more.
Why does this approach work?
Your brain is on the lookout for information that can help you, and Feldenkrais lessons give your brain what it's looking for: relevant sensory information, time to notice differences, and a chance to build new neural pathways for greater comfort and mobility.
