Walking is a complex essential action that involves a high level of organization and coordination throughout our entire body. Good upright posture is fundamental to healthy walking — it ensures that the forces of gravity are transmitted efficiently through our skeleton and allows us to balance effectively while in motion.

Technically, every step we take involves a brief moment of 'falling' from one leg, and being 'caught' by the other. This transfer of weight and momentum, repeated countless times each day, is what we experience as walking. 

This mini-workshop with Feldenkrais Trainer David Zemach-Bersin focuses on making the way we walk more comfortable and efficient. You will learn Feldenkrais lessons specifically deisigned to improve your walking. These lessons will also improve your balance, posture, and overall sense of well-being. This is the eighth workshop in the Essential Action Toolkit.

Meet David Zemach-Bersin

 


 

David Zemach-Bersin is a world-renowned Feldenkrais Teacher and Trainer whose warm, confident teaching style reflects nearly five decades of helping people heal and develop their potential. David studied directly with Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, founder of the Feldenkrais Method, and graduated from the first Feldenkrais Teacher Training Program held in the U.S. in 1977. David has become an expert in this versatile, sensory-motor approach which engages the brain's neuroplasticity to bring about healing and improvement. David is co-author of RELAXERCISE (HarperCollins) and the Director of Feldenkrais Access, where he teaches online Feldenkrais classes and programs for the public and develops training materials for Feldenkrais Practitioners. He lives with his family in Connecticut.
